About

Norfolk Food Banks is a collaborative project that provides information about local food banks and related services in a single online location. The goal is to reach more people who will benefit from food security services by boosting communication services and forming new partnerships between service providers, community groups, grassroots poverty reduction initiatives, and the community at large.

The Salvation Army Simcoe Community & Family Services is the project lead. Additional partners include RISE Norfolk; Simcoe Caring Cupboard; Port Dover Lifeline Food Bank; Delhi Sharing Pantry; Waterford & District Food Cupboard; Mission Food Bank (Port Rowan); Norfolk County Public Library, Indwell, and Church out Serving. Other organizations are welcome to add themselves to the site any time by contacting the project management team at info@norfolkfoodbanks.ca.

This project is funded by an Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities Fund Grant. The project also included funding for the Salvation Army to hire a temporary, full-time support staff person to help manage the additional need for services caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
